Inclusive education in Phnom Penh grows stronger when schools and therapy centers work side by side. That is exactly what happened during the recent visit of Beverly Titmuss, Learning Support Leader at iCAN British International School, to OrbRom Center. Her visit focused on practical ways our teams can support students with diverse learning needs through joint planning, data sharing, and open communication.

During the meeting, we discussed how learning support teachers and therapists can coordinate around each child’s profile. OrbRom Center provides detailed assessments and developmental screening tools that help schools understand a student’s strengths, challenges, and next steps. Resources such as our guides on inclusive education in Phnom Penh and special education in Cambodia show how assessment results can be turned into realistic classroom strategies.

Beverly shared how iCAN’s learning support team structures interventions inside the classroom, while our therapists explained how one-on-one sessions and small groups can target language, literacy, and social skills. This kind of collaboration means a child receives the same core message and goals from every adult—teachers, specialists, and parents. For many students with autism, ADHD, or language difficulties, this consistency is what turns small gains into lasting progress.

We also explored how OrbRom’s speech therapy services can be aligned with classroom targets. For example, children working on social communication in therapy can practice the same skills in group activities at school. Our articles for educators, including strategies on supporting children with autism in the classroom and the importance of assessments for children with special needs, were shared as practical tools Beverly’s team can use right away.

This visit was more than a friendly meeting; it strengthened a long-term partnership to improve inclusive education in Phnom Penh. By combining the expertise of iCAN’s learning support department with OrbRom’s therapy and assessment services, we can offer clearer pathways for families who are seeking help for their children. Together, we are building a network of schools and specialists who believe that every learner deserves tailored support, understanding, and a real chance to succeed.
